
If you're looking to pair your meal with beer, wine or a cocktail, consider dropping into one of these new Pittsburgh establishments. Here are the newest places to check out the next time you're in search of a new bar and eatery near you.
Siempre Algo
414 E. Ohio St., North Side

Siempre Algo is a New American restaurant and bar situated on the North Side in the former space of Schrim’s Garden Café.
Wines by the glass are on offer along with specialty cocktails like the Corpse Reviver #2 — a blend of Bluecoat gin, Cointreau, Lillet Blanc, lemon and absinthe.
On the menu, look for light bites like fresh ceviche; homemade pretzels with chicken liver pâté; and grilled local muskmelon with prosciutto, spiced buckwheat honey and mint.
For your main course, indulge in a hearty ribeye with chimichurri; or roasted chicken breast with brandied chicken liver bread pudding, English peas, crimini mushrooms and pan jus. (You can view the full menu here.)
Siempre Algo is off to a strong start with a current Yelp rating of five stars out of five reviews.
Yelper Jane S., who reviewed it on Aug. 28, wrote, "So excited this gem opened up so close to home. It's a perfect spot for a causal, but delicious and fresh dinner on a random weeknight or romantic weekend date night."
And Michael R. noted, "Took my dad here for his birthday. From the soft pretzels, to the deviled eggs and amazing drinks, the night started out fantastic. ... Also the waitstaff made sure we felt right at home the whole time. The whole experience was phenomenal from every aspect."

Soju
4923 Penn Ave., Garfield

Soju is a neighborhood Korean spot specializing in "creating traditional Korean dishes with an American twist," according to its website.
The family-owned restaurant and bar comes courtesy of Pittsburgh native Simon Chough and serves up favorites like Korean sushi rolls; panko-breaded chicken katsu with tangy barbecue sauce; and Hawaiian-style poke with raw ahi tuna, hot rice and sweet shoyu or spicy mayo marinade. Thirsty? Come enjoy a glass of artisanal wine, craft beers or indulge in one of the spot's signature cocktails. (The drink menu can be found here.)
Soju currently holds 4.5 stars out of 46 reviews on Yelp, indicating good reviews.
Yelper Madeline V., who reviewed it on Aug. 9, wrote, "We ended up drinking the Soju Spritzer and the Honey Plum Bulleit. I'd have either one again in a heartbeat, but the spritzer was especially perfect for summer with a refreshing watermelon flavor."
"Loved the atmosphere of this place," added Yelper George C. "Warm and inviting. I sat at the bar and had a great experience. After having to choose from many delicious beers and cocktails, I ordered a really well-crafted sangria."
Soju is open from 5–10 p.m. from Tuesday-Thursday and 5 p.m.–midnight on Friday and Saturday. (It's closed on Monday and Sunday.)
BURN By Rocky Patel

BURN By Rocky Patel is a cigar lounge, cocktail bar and live music venue that comes courtesy of owner Rocky Patel, who told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, "It's a beautiful space for people to come and enjoy. They will have an opportunity to smoke a cigar, but they can also enjoy a cocktail, great food and amazing entertainment."
In an effort to change cigar bar stereotypes, aficionados can choose from a selection of 500 cigars from 19 countries. Indoor smoking is permitted; however, button-down shirts are required.
A full menu is available as well, featuring dishes such as assorted charcuterie; ginger-candied bacon satay with hot vinegar; and crab cakes with horseradish citrus remoulade and spring vegetables. (See the full menu here.)
With a 3.5-star Yelp rating out of 21 reviews on Yelp, BURN By Rocky Patel is still finding its way, but it's early days.
"Great bar/club that you can smoke a cigar in without going home smelling like an ashtray," shared Yelper Justin G. "The environment is top notch and the service is excellent."
And Angela T. wrote, "Great addition to the North Shore! Very friendly staff. Great DJ has everyone dancing! Flatbread and charcuterie plate was delicious. Will be back very soon."
