Topping the list is MÜV Integrated Physical Culture. This is not a traditional gym. Rather, its trainers use knowledge of the body and exercise mechanics to improve joint mobility, accelerate recovery and improve posture.

Join group classes or schedule private sessions. Movement classes include yoga, Qigong and basic Swedish gymnastics. Its Skill Circuit 6 is a six-week program that challenges your body with six different workouts to improve strength and agility. Located at 5469 Penn Ave. in Garfield, this is the highest rated gym in Pittsburgh, boasting five stars out of 20 reviews on Yelp.

2. California Cycle Path Indoor Cycling Studio

In addition to spin classes, this studio offers classes in TRX suspension training, heavy bag training, indoor rowing and dance fitness. Use their online scheduling tool to reserve a class, or sign up for personal coaching sessions.
