Technology is also producing jobs, with computer software and internet tech among the top industries hiring in the area last month.

The picture looks different when considering which industries offer the best places to work, however. One service industry ranks high, with employees giving good overall ratings to Denver-based firms hiring in the travel industry, according to Glassdoor company profiles. Tech industries took the most spots in the top ranks based on employee satisfaction: among employers hiring this month in the city, those in internet tech and computer software have some of the highest overall ratings.
If you're a registered nurse, you're seeing considerable demand for your skills in Denver. Registered nurses represented the position most in demand on the hiring market last month, with retail team members, cashiers, project managers, and software engineers filling out the top five most job openings by occupation.

Many of the city's top industries reflect national trends, while some are more unique to the area. Of the five industries recruiting the most workers in Denver last month, computer software, health care, and recruiting were in the top five nationwide; restaurants and internet tech industries ranked fourth and fifth in Denver but sixth and 10th across the U.S., respectively.
Differences in how employees rate their employers across industries in Denver are similar to patterns seen across the country. Companies with the highest employee ratings in the U.S. appear in internet tech, accounting and law, real estate, computer software, and recruiting. Companies in four of those industries are also rated highest among those hiring this month in Denver.

Among highly rated companies with new job listings last month, employees gave Denver-based internet companies an average overall rating of 3.94 out of five stars in the city; local accounting services and law firms receive an average rating of 3.77 stars, real estate firms an average rating of 3.72 stars, and travel and tourism companies around 3.64 stars.
