Shanty Supper Club
1033 E. 17th Ave., North Capitol Hill

Shanty Supper Club is a Wisconsin-inspired supper club that serves up traditional American comfort food from the Midwest alongside a cocktail bar. To further reinforce the Wisconsin concept, it plays Green Bay Packers games all season long.
On the menu, look for the Midwest pot roast with potatoes, carrots, parsnips and onions, served over mashed potatoes with brown gravy; the fried walleye with coleslaw and one side; and the Stuffed Burger (a half-pound beef patty stuffed with white cheddar, bacon and caramelized onion). Finish your meal with some carrot cake or bread pudding. (See the full menu here.)
Shanty Supper Club's current Yelp rating of five stars out of nine reviews indicates positive feedback from diners.
Holly J., who reviewed it on Aug. 23, said, "This is some of the best Midwest comfort food! And I'm from the Midwest, so I am an expert. We had amazing mac and cheese with prosciutto and walleye! They fly the walleye in from Wisconsin. We finished with amazing bread pudding."
Yelper Ilene M. wrote, "We ordered cheese curds, pretzel bites, the prime rib, chicken pot pie and the butter burger. Everything was incredibly yummy and the drinks were solid."
Shanty Supper Club is open from 4–10 p.m. on Tuesday-Thursday, 4–11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m.–10 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)

James L. added, "This is great. Sucker for a good barbecue chicken and they didn't disappoint. Wife was happy with the pulled pork and I was ecstatic with the brisket. People were very nice. Glad to have them in the neighborhood."
BBQ Supply Co. is only open on Saturday from 11 a.m. until it runs out of barbecue. It also has a Pit-to-Plate dinner option on every fourth Friday of the month, which you have to book in advance.
