Meet author of 'Building the Modern World: Albert Kahn in Detroit'

Stop by the Detroit Public Library this week to hear author Michael H. Hodges, who covers fine arts for the Detroit News, discuss his new book, “Building the Modern World: Albert Kahn in Detroit.” The book focuses on the story of German-Jewish immigrant Albert Kahn, who began his life in poverty but would eventually become one the most influential architects of the 20th century. His impact can best be remembered with his work on the early Packard Motor and Ford Motor Company factories.

'50 Years of Immortality' art exhibition honoring MLK

Come to the Detroit Public Library for the opening of artist Ana Candioti's latest work, “50 Years of Immortality: Art Exhibition Honoring Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.” The series of paintings will be shown in the galleria. A small reception with Candioti will also be held. The paintings will stay on display through February.

Sister Pie cookbook signing
