RaveDC at Bliss Nightclub

Bliss Nightclub is bringing out the glow sticks for an honest-to-goodness rave on Friday. There'll be EDM, of course, but also reggae, afrobeat, bachata and more. It's 18+, and everyone gets in free before 11:30 p.m.

Dadju at Elevate

French singer Dadju brings his Francophone pop to Elevate on Saturday. 

The son of a popular Congolese vocalist and the brother of rappers, he started his career as the singer in the singer-and-rapper duo Shin Sekaï. His first solo album, 2017's "Gentleman 2.0," has earned platinum status.

The Candy Snatchers at Slash Run

Legendary Virginia Beach punk rockers The Candy Snatchers return to D.C. to play at Slash Run on Saturday. The group will play songs from its 2017 album, "Moronic Pleasures: The Lost Album," which was originally recorded before guitar player and founding member Matthew Odietus died in 2008. Zodiac Panthers will open the show.

Silent 'R&B Wars' Party at 12Twelve

If you like parties that won't burst your eardrums, 12Twelve on H Street is the venue for "R&B Wars" on Saturday. Three DJs will be spinning three different channels of new and old school hits. You switch from one to other on your wireless headphones, then vote for your favorite with your (dancing) feet.

Odysseys at St. Mark's Church

Finally, the Chiarina Chamber Players continue its residence at St. Mark's Episcopal Church on Capitol Hill with "Odysseys" this Sunday evening. Guest musicians join Chiarina's Efi Hackmey on piano and Carrie Bean Stute on cello as they play pieces from Shubert, Debussy, Lili Boulanger and Pēteris Vasks.
