Didi’s Downtown

Didi’s Downtown is a new cocktail bar, offering cheesesteaks and more.

The scratch kitchen serves salads, soups, sandwiches and burgers. For entrees, try the Alfredo Bleu with seared broccoli, blue cheese garlic Alfredo, Parmesan and onions over fettuccine, or the Churasco Ribeye served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. This business has been hitting the right note with locals, with a 4.5-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp thus far.

Yelper Alyssa K., who was the first to review it on Dec. 21, wrote, "Lovely new addition to downtown Frisco. This cozy neighborhood restaurant and bar is located on Main Street in the building formerly occupied by Stan's. The patio and interior is freshly renovated and has a cozy, intimate feel."

Ryan W. added, "This place is really good. Not at all like the previous establishment that was in this building. The scratch-made food is excellent."

It's open 11 a.m.–11 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and 10 a.m.–9 p.m. on Sunday.

Howard Wang's Frisco

Howard Wang's Frisco is a new Chinese spot.

The extensive menu offers dim sum, salads and wraps, plus classic, traditional and Howard Wang signature dishes. Off the signature portion, diners can go with the Ginger Salmon, which comes with asparagus, red peppers, mushrooms, scallions and fresh ginger. For traditional favorites, customers pick a protein first and then an entree like garlic sauce stir fry that contains roasted chiles, celery, snow peas, carrots, bamboo shoots and mushrooms. 

With a four-star rating out of 18 reviews on Yelp so far, the new restaurant seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Ann H., who reviewed it on Jan. 1, said, "We have visited Howard Wang's restaurant in Frisco several times and tried a new dish every time. They haven't disappointed us yet. The food is delicious and healthy. Service is great and fast. Highly recommended."

And Mark H. added, "Perfect atmosphere and the food rocks! We love the crab wontons, hot and sour soup, chicken black bean and the honey-seared chicken. So happy they're in Frisco now!"

Stop in from 11 a.m.–9:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and Sunday, and 11 a.m.–11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Firenza Pizza

Firenza Pizza is a new spot to score pizza and more.

With locations in 10 states, the chain pizza bakes its pies in only three minutes in a stone hearth oven to deliver a quick and tasty meal. From the 10 custom-made pizzas on the menu, there is the Firenza with pepperoni, sausage crumbles, artichoke hearts, red onion, pepper medley and fresh garlic, and the Corleone with pesto sauce, grilled chicken, feta, sliced tomatoes, ricotta and banana peppers. In addition to pizza, the menu includes wings, bread sticks, salads and dessert.

With 4.5 stars out of eight reviews on Yelp, it's off to a strong start.  

Yelper Eliora B., who reviewed it on Jan 6, said, "Great build-your-won pizza place. Super convenient location. On par with Blaze, and the ingredients taste fresh. Tried the breadsticks, and intend to try the cheesy breadsticks upon next visit!"

Allisssa G. noted, "Definitely one of the top contenders for fast-fired pizza. Their crust is hands down my favorite, and they have the best signature pizzas in my opinion."

AR Workshop

AR Workshop is a new spot to score art classes and more.

The shop describes itself as a boutique do-it-studio where instructors lead classes to create home decor crafts for all ages. Examples of crafts customers will create include framed signs, canvas pillows and tote bags and centerpiece boxes. To view the workshop schedule, click here. 

AR Workshop has been getting a positive response from Yelpers, with a five-star rating out of three reviews.   

Albert H., who was the first to review it on Nov. 14, wrote, "Wow! Do it yourself paradise has been located in Frisco! We fell in love with the chunky blankets and made two of them with our favorite colors to take home. The great thing about this place is you not only get the cool items, but also the fun experience of learning how to make them."

And Shannon R. said, "My finished product came out looking like I just bought it at a fancy boutique. I love this place!"

The art workshop has yet to post its hours online.

Best Foot Spa

Best Foot Spa is a new massage and reflexologist spot.

It offers body messages and Tui Na, the latter of which "uses rhythmic compression along energy channels of the body, as well as a variety of techniques that manipulate and lubricate the joints," according to the company website. There's also reflexology performed via foot messages. 

With 3.5 stars on Yelp out of three reviews, Best Food Spa is getting solid feedback from its clientele.

Marina L. said, "Best massage! The guy  knows what he is doing. My back feels a lot better afterwards. The place is super clean."

Tenya C. noted, "My massage started out pretty shaky and I was not pleased at all. It seems as though the owner, Cindy, was able to sense that I wasn't relaxed. She then stepped in and took over my massage. Not only did she do a great job, but she also gave me a discount and apologized."
