Dwell Coffee & Biscuits

Dwell Coffee & Biscuits is a breakfast and brunch spot, offering coffee and tea and more.

It's the second location opened by Dwell Coffee & Biscuits, and the menu has espresso, which is served with two shots, matcha, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The shop also has buttermilk biscuits that are handmade fresh each day that can be ordered as mini or in a breakfast sandwich. With a 4.5-star Yelp rating out 26 reviews, Dwell Coffee & Biscuits has been getting positive attention.

Emonne M., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Jan. 7, wrote, "Incredible matcha latte. Yummy-like-your-grandma's biscuits. Get ready to have your best day ever at Dwell! Recommendations: matcha latte with a cookie dough biscuit."

And Brian J. wrote, "Rejoicing there is a non-Starbucks option again in our neighborhood! The biscuits are amazing. Five dollars for three is good deal. The honey ham, cookie dough and cinnamon frosted were all excellent. My wife had a snickerdoodle latte and an egg and cheese biswich that was very good."

Dwell Coffee & Biscuits is open from 6 a.m.–10 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m.–10 p.m. on weekends.

Shipley Do-nuts is a new spot to score doughnuts and more.

Opened since 1936 by founder Lawrence Shipley, the chain has nearly 200 stores and offers up to 60 different doughnut flavors. The sweet pastries come with toppings like icing, sprinkles and nuts and are filled with various fruits and creams.

A four-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp indicates Shipley Do-nuts is getting positive feedback so far.

Sandra S., who was the first to review it on Jan. 3, said, "Love this place. If you have never been to Shipley's, you're missing out. Drive thru option is also available. Best doughnuts and kolaches. You will not be disappointed."

Charity Y. added, "The employee that helped us was happy and helpful. I had never been there and she was patient with telling me what some of the favorites were. The doughnuts and kolaches were delicious. We will be frequenting this location."

Poke-Poke

Poke-Poke is a Hawaiian spot, offering poke and more.

With another location in Austin, Poke-Poke originated in Los Angeles. The new Fort Worth location also specializes in poke. Look for ahi tuna or salmon tossed in soy sauce, sesame oil, onions and sesame seeds.  

Poke-Poke has received solid feedback so far, with a 3.5-star rating out of seven reviews on Yelp.

Rich D., who was the first Yelper to review the new spot on Dec. 22, wrote, "I stopped by on a whim on the way to a rodeo. I might have to make the trip out from Dallas again just for this restaurant."

Yelper Sean W. added, “This is exactly what I'm looking for when I think of poke. Great tuna with just the right amount of seasoning, and it's not hidden with an abundance of toppings. If you haven't already, please give this place a try.”

Abe Froman

Abe Froman is a spot to score pizza and more.

It's the newest place at the Food Hall at Crockett Row. The menu is listed on a chalkboard hanging on the wall and the personal pizzas are cooked in a brick oven. The signature pizza, Abe Froman, comes with a sausage-stuffed crust and ricotta cheese, with Parmesan and more sausage on top. Abe Froman also offers calzones. 

The fresh arrival has gotten solid reviews thus far, with a four-star rating out of five reviews on Yelp.

Karen K., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Dec. 26, wrote, "Abe Froman is the highlight of the new Fort Worth food hall! This should be the first place you should check out!"

And Scott H. wrote, "Not bad. Overall a decent pizza. Dough was nice and fresh, but the middle got a little soft/soggy. The toppings were unique. The flavors didn't all come together, but I can see this place getting better."

Cinnaholic is a bakery and vegan spot, offering desserts and more.

With 23 locations scattered across the country, and five in Canada, Cinnaholic serves up cinnamon rolls as well as other pastry goodies like brownies and cookies. Customers can build their own cinnamon rolls and pick from a the choice of 18 different frosting flavors, such as cake batter, marshmallow and peanut butter, and nearly two dozen toppings, like fruit, Oreo cookies and chocolate chips. The fresh addition has gotten good reviews thus far, with a four-star rating out of seven reviews on Yelp.

Melanie F., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Jan. 13, wrote, "Great custom cinnamon rolls! The staff was great and so were the cinnamon rolls. We got ours straight out of the oven, so they were very hot and fresh."

And Kimberly B. wrote, "My favorite thing about these cinnamon rolls is that they are vegan. So awesome to see vegan cuisine gaining popularity in Fort Worth. They also had coffee with almond creamer set out, which was good. They have a large variety of frostings and toppings for the rolls, so I'm sure everyone could find something they like."
