Mola is a sushi bar, cocktail bar and Asian fusion spot.
On the menu, expect to find rice bowls, small plates, sashimi and individual hand sushi rolls. Customers can choose the Hot and Spicy Chicken rice bowl with ginger, scallions, garlic, dried chilli and sesame seeds, or opt for a combination sushi plate like the regular, which comes with six pieces of sushi (two piece each of salmon, tuna and yellowtail) and two hand rolls (blue crab salad and tuna with avocado).
For a beverage, there are an assortment of tea options, including jasmine, mango green and oolong.
With a 4.5-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp so far, the new restaurant seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
Madeline V., who reviewed it on Dec. 29, said, "The atmosphere was fantastic and everyone we interacted with was courteous and professional to a fault, and I have no doubts things will continue to improve in terms of efficiency. We ordered a chicken teriyaki rice bowl, several bao buns and an array of hand rolls and nigiri. Everything was flavorful and perfectly executed."
Yelper David K. noted, "This place tastes so good—very good sushi. Best I've had in Pittsburgh. The staff is very friendly too. Their sake selection is awesome."
It is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.–11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Sunday.
Masala House Indian Bistro is a new Indian spot. Offering authentic fare that is prepared from scratch, Masala House blends native flavors and cooking processes to create its cuisine.
On the menu, there is solid selection of starters, chaat (Indian street food), breads and sides, entrees and tandoori. After sampling the Gobi Manchurian starter of crispy fried cauliflower in a spicy sauce, diners can turn to the entrees. For example, the Karahi is a traditional Indian dish with a blend of green peppers, onions and tomatoes mixed with a blend of spices that comes with either chicken, shrimp, lamb or goat.
With a four-star Yelp rating out of 12 reviews, Masala House Indian Bistro is off to a positive start with locals.
Jillian L., who reviewed it on Jan. 5, wrote, "Food was very very good. Samosa chaat, lamb curry, chicken tikka masala—all cooked wonderfully with great spice level and flavor. Garlic naan was the best I've had in Pittsburgh."
Scott S. noted, "Some of the best garlic naan I've ever had and the chicken vindaloo was excellent. They have an all-you-can-eat lunch menu that I'll have to stop by and try at some point."
Stop in from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday. (It's closed on Monday.)
The market features produce, baked good, a deli, coffee, sorbet, bread, a floral department and staples like milk and eggs. Customers looking for a quick snack can order a soup, salad or one of 10 sandwiches from the menu for a sit-down meal.
Yelpers are liking the new addition, which currently holds a 4.5 rating out of four reviews.
Lauren S., who was among the first to review it on Nov. 27, said, "It's a market. Full of wonderful, locally sourced goodies, staple pantry items, fresh flowers and beautiful plant arrangements, plus an espresso maker and deli counter with specialty items made to go."
And Sue T. wrote, "Everyone was very accommodating and helpful. I could tell that they care about the customer's needs because, at the counter, there was a sign-up sheet for suggestions on what the market should offer."
