Impact-Makers to Watch 2019

Impact-Makers to Watch is LA's annual impact recognition event, presented by Stratiscope in partnership with Project Restore. Get to know the individuals who are making a positive impact in the community. The honorees, chosen by leaders from the LA City Council and Board of Supervisors, will receive support for their efforts throughout the year. Antonia Hernandez, president and chief executive officer for the California Community Foundation will deliver the keynote address. 

When: Wednesday, January 16, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Book Release Event: "The Letting of a Little Water" by Shakirah Peterson

"The Letting of a Little Water" is a collection of magnetic poetry and polaroid photographs from LA artist Shakirah Peterson. The evening will begin with Anansi Writers Workshop, followed by an open mic. Peterson will conclude the evening with a reading.

When: Wednesday, January 16, 7:30-10:30 p.m.
Where: World Stage Performance Gallery, 4321 Degnan Blvd.

"GROUNDED"

"Grounded" celebrates electronic music with artists Modus, Stephen Disario, Tap Newo and Jonny Maven. The event will begin with an industry Q&A at 9 p.m. The show is free before 10 p.m. This event is for ages 21 and over.
