Naomi Kawase, director of "Sweet Bean" and "Radiance," will discuss the possibilities of film with Professor Akira Mizuta Lippit of the University of Southern California. Known for employing documentary realism in her filmmaking, Kawase has the distinction of being the first Japanese juror at Cannes and receiving the Grand Prix award at Cannes. This master class is part of the "Short Shorts Film Festival in Hollywood."

FILM SCREENING + ARTIST TALK: Jinn

The film explores a 17-year-old black girl's identity crisis when her mother decides to convert to Islam. Part of Identities: A Free Film Series, this series seeks to inspire the teen artists of Venice Arts.

Short Shorts Film Festival in Hollywood

Japan House Los Angeles presents "Short Shorts Film Festival in Hollywood," showcasing Japanese and international short films. This free one-day festival presents four short films: "The Human Face," "Canaria," "Benjamin's Last Day at Katong Swimming," and "Lies."
