The Hate U Give: Film Screening & Discussion
First, YWCA National Capital Area is presenting a free screening of this new film based on the YA novel from Angie Thomas. After viewing the film, which tackles racism, police violence and racial profiling, contribute to a discussion about how we can resolve these issues in today's Washington.

Women & Whiskey Wednesday Takes Flight
Next, it's a night for Black women to indulge their love of whiskey, music and sisterhood at Studio Gallery. You'll learn all about the tasty liquor among friends and, what's more, proceeds from your entry fee will help girls from the E.L. Haynes Middle School in Shaw to travel to Colombia this summer.

DowntownDC Momentum Awards
On Thursday, the National Building Museum is the place to be to celebrate the economic and social development of Downtown D.C. Awards will be announced in such categories as Downtown Person-of-the-Year, Public Sector Program-of-the-year and Private Sector Project-of-the-year. Come early for the cocktail hour; entry is free.

Conversational DC: Japanese
Then, Japanese takes its turn at Conversational DC, the language immersion social club. You are invited to grab a drink at the downstairs bar at the Colony Club, then head upstairs to meet new people who share your interest in Japanese. Digital Activism Debate
Finally, the hashtag #balancetonporc or "denounce your pig" was France's answer to the #MeToo movement. The journalist who created the tag, Sandra Muller, will discuss the movement and digital activism generally at Alliance Française. The event, which will include audience participation, will happen in English.
