The Present and the Future: Trade in the Asia-Pacific Region

First, the Washington International Trade Association is behind this mini-conference of two panel discussions to address challenges and opportunities for trade in the Asia-Pacific region. One panel will consist of economics-focused diplomats from countries in the region, while the other features private-sector leaders.

The Ambassador Series: The Romanian Presidency and the European Union

Also on the diplomatic front, the Hudson Institute will host George Maior, Romania's Ambassador to the U.S. Maior will be addressing the priorities for Romania during its presidency of the EU Council, now in the second month of a six-month term, as well as Brexit, NATO and more.

Education and Security: Keys to Afghanistan’s Future

Then, on Thursday, there's this panel discussion on the importance and challenges of providing higher education opportunities in Afghanistan. Among the panelists will be the Ambassador to the U.S. from Afghanistan, a former Commander of U.S. Forces in Afghanistan and the current President of the American University of Afghanistan.
