The City School Open House

The City School, a Christian-based institution is hosting an open house on its Poplar campus Wednesday. Parents can tour the grade 6 to 12 school and meet teachers and students. According to its website, the school boasts a diverse student body and offers advanced placement and dual-enrollment options. For the past decade, 100 percent of its graduating students have been accepted into college.

Rewriting the Story of Girls’ Education in STEM: Past Through Present
Celebrate Women's History Month with a look at the historical timeline of girls' access to STEM education. Kim Tolley, professor at the School of Education at Notre Dame de Namur University in California and the author of "The Science Education of American Girls: A Historical Perspective," will highlight periods of increased and decreased access for girls in science and math. Natalie King, assistant professor at Georgia State University, will explore how to engage minority girls in STEM education.

Step Into College Conference 2019

If you're a college-bound high school student, check out a pre-college conference at the University of the Sciences Saturday. The event is open to all Greater Philadelphia high school students and will feature lectures and workshops on the college admissions process, financial aid, essay writing, career planning and more. The conference was created in partnership between Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Browns and the University of the Sciences.
