Shake Shack makes Carmel Valley debut, with fast food and morePhoto: Terri N./Yelp

A new traditional American fast food spot, offering burgers, fries and more, has opened up shop in the neighborhood. The new arrival to Carmel Valley, called Shake Shack, is located at 3705 Paseo Place, Suite 1140.

It offers the Roadside Double — a double Swiss cheeseburger topped with Dijon mustard and onions simmered in bacon and beer — which is an exclusive California menu item. This is the also first San Diego location to feature cashless kiosks.

The fresh addition has made a good impression thus far, with a four-star rating out of 16 reviews on Yelp.

Trish S., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on March 22, wrote, "I walked right in and ordered a burger, fries and a shake from the kiosk — hot crinkle cut fries, perfect burger on their signature soft bun with pickle and a custard shake to die for."

Yelper JD B. added, “I was surprised how great the chicken was. It was super juicy and the breading was near perfect. What a surprise from a burger joint.”

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Shake Shack is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m. daily.

Make it at home.
