Crime incidents overall in San Antonio declined from 10,564 to 9,174 for the week of April 15, according to data from SpotCrime, which collects data from police agencies and other validated sources. 

Thefts and assaults led the decreases in crime reports. Thefts fell to 1,956 incidents from 2,474 the previous week. Assaults dropped from 1,439 to 959.

The number of shooting reports decreased from 155 to 112, and robbery incidents fell from 113 to 87 over the week.

Burglaries were also down, with 484 incidents reported last week, compared to 539 incidents the previous week. Vandalism declined 307 to 276 incidents over the week.

There were 5,300 reports of other crimes, a decrease of 234 from the previous week. This category includes such crimes as fraud, trespassing, public disturbance, drug possession and traffic violations. There were 220 arrests, down from 253 in the previous week.

Most of the week's reported crimes occurred in Downtown, Highland Hills and Prospect Hill.

The Dellview area saw the largest decline in the number of incidents. Crime reports in Avenida Guadalupe and Springvale also fell.
