Bella likes to socialize — she gets along well with other dogs. Her vaccinations are already up to date, and she's been spayed.
From Bella's caretaker:
Bella is a special 12 year old senior girl looking to retire. She is outgoing and very social with people and dogs. She is completely house trained and knows how to live in a home even when her people are at work. Bella was adopted out as a puppy 12 years ago and was just recently found as a stray dog. Luckily, because of her microchip, she found her way back to us. Bella weighs about 55 pounds but looks bigger due to her long legs.

Opie, pit bull terrier mix
Opie is a male pit bull terrier mix staying at South Of The Bully Rescue.
Opie likes to socialize — he loves other dogs. He is already vaccinated, and he's been neutered.
From Opie's caretaker:
Opie is a handsome blue fella who lived his life on a chain before he was dumped at a rural shelter. He's around 6 years old, 55lbs, and has moderate energy. He lives with a foster who does daycare, so he sees a lot of dogs come and go, and he's quick to make friends with most of them. For a guy who grew up as a yard ornament, Opie is surprisingly well balanced and easy going. He's not a fan of stick-like objects, but other than that, nothing much phases him. Opie is a sidekick kinda guy who is looking for a friend to show him the world beyond a chain.

Iris, Siberian husky and Samoyed mix
Iris is a female Siberian husky and Samoyed mix being cared for at North Mecklenburg Animal Rescue.
Iris plays well with others — she gets along well with other dogs. Her vaccinations are up to date, and she's been spayed.
From Iris's caretaker:
Iris is a beautiful girl who has had a rough start in life. She was probably part of a puppy mill or a backyard breeding situation, and because of this she is slow to trust people. She does warm up and given time and patience will become a beloved family member. This will be process that will require work and commitment on the part of her adopter. Because of her breed mix and fear she needs a home that is experienced with the breed and has a situation that will allow her to acclimate to her new home. Iris weighs about 48 lbs and does well in a crate. Like most working breeds she is intelligent and inquisitive and needs an owner that appreciates these traits and will be willing to take the time to keep her well exercised and engaged with training. Like many dogs of her breed, Iris is an escape artist and will need a sturdy crate. Iris is 2 years old, spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and on preventative drugs.

Willow, pit bull terrier mix
Willow is a female pit bull terrier mix being cared for at South Of The Bully Rescue.
Willow likes to socialize — she loves other dogs. Her vaccinations are already up to date, and she's been spayed.
From Willow's caretaker:
Willow is a pretty little blue and white 2 year old girl who's right around 50 lbs. She's got moderate energy and loves to charge around her foster's huge yard, but she'd do fine with a family without a fence as well. Willow spent her first 2 years of life in a home without a crate, and she'd really rather not crate if she can get away with it. Her foster confines her to a room when she has to leave the house, and Willow repays her by being perfectly well behaved and non-destructive, even when a highly tempting bag of dog food is mistakenly left in the same room. What a good girl! Willow was turned into a rural Southern Carolina shelter when her owner went to prison.
Willow is loving life in her foster home, she gets along with the resident pitties and pugs, but she'll sometimes tell other females to go away if she's enjoying lap time and does not want to share. We think males would put up with this quirk better than females, so we're looking for a brother for Willow. She definitely does not want to be an only child! Willow loves children, but we're not sure about cats because she was not at the shelter for long enough to test. Maybe? Probably? Hard to say with this one, but we can find out. Willow is such a nice dog, you're going to fall so hard if you get a chance to meet her.
