We took a data-driven look at the question, using Yelp to deduce which restaurants have been in the spotlight this month.
To find out who made the list, we looked at Las Vegas businesses on Yelp by category and counted how many reviews each received. Rather than compare them based on number of reviews alone, we calculated a percentage increase in reviews over the past month, and tracked businesses that consistently increase their volume of reviews to identify statistically significant outliers compared to past performance.

Santos Guisados Tacos and Beer
Open since February, this bar and Mexican spot is trending compared to other businesses categorized as "Mexican" on Yelp.
Citywide, Mexican spots saw a median 2.4 percent increase in new reviews over the past month, but Santos Guisados Tacos and Beer saw a 43.2 percent increase, maintaining a solid 4.5-star rating throughout.

While businesses categorized as "American (New)" on Yelp saw a median 1.6 percent increase in new reviews over the past month, Hawthorn Grill bagged a 10.2 percent increase in new reviews within that time frame, maintaining a mixed 3.5-star rating. It significantly outperformed the previous month by gaining 3.3 times more reviews than expected based on its past performance.

Moreover, on a month-to-month basis Blinders Burgers and Brunch's review count increased by more than 180 percent.
Blinders Burgers and Brunch offers a variety of burgers, rosemary fries, bratwurst and plant-based dishes. Over the past month, it's maintained a mixed 3.5-star rating among Yelpers.
