This new restaurant, in Fergusons Downtown Motel, features a type of fireside cooking known as robata izakaya. The menu offers more than 20 kinds of skewers, as well as vegetable dumplings, pork, fish, beef and chicken dishes, alongside beer, sake and wine.

All of the cafe's coffees are from local roasters, and the menu features such beverage options as lavender and pistachio lattes, matcha lemonade and coffee cake frappe. The shop also offers hot biscuits and a variety of toasted sandwiches, including grilled cheese with avocado, bacon and grilled onions.

With a 4.5-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp, The Jolt Coffee Co. has been getting positive attention.

Yelp user Lizeth S., who reviewed the cafe on May 9, wrote, "I had a double cortado and a chocolate banana muffin top to add to my non-muffin top. Both items tasted fabulous."

Old Soul is a cocktail bar and New American spot.

This new business, which opened in February, is the latest venture of chef Natalie Young of Downtown's Eat breakfast and lunch spot.

Old Soul specializes in a twist on classic American cocktails, with an emphasis on whiskey and bourbon, and the chef's take on Southern-style dishes, such as braised short rib risotto, meatloaf with cauliflower puree, fried green tomatoes and peach cobbler. 

Old Soul is off to a good start with 4.5 stars out of 38 reviews on Yelp.

Yelper Rick G., who reviewed Old Soul on April 18, wrote, "The risotto, pork chop, Brussels sprouts and cobbler were absolutely delicious. Highly recommended and worth getting off of the Strip to experience this place."
