The number of crime incidents in Plano saw an overall increase last week, after a previous decline, according to data from CrimeoMeter, which collects data from police agencies and validated sources. Incidents rose to 264 for the week of July 13, up from 248 the week before.

Criminal mischief and assault led the increase in crime reports. Criminal mischief rose to 28 incidents last week, from 20 the week before. Assault went from 23 to 30. Reports of criminal mischief have continued to grow for the last two weeks.

There was also an increase in burglaries, from 32 to 37 incidents.

There were four reported homicides last week. That represents an increase from three incidents the previous week. There were also 48 incidents of theft, up from 44 the week before.

Among the few types of offenses that saw a downturn last week, reports of drug-related offenses went from 17 to 10. Incidents of attempted auto theft fell from 10 to six, and robbery went down from five to two.

There were 36 reports of miscellaneous other crimes, an increase of six from the previous week. Other crimes includes a variety of offenses like trespassing, public disturbance and violation of a court order.

Considering the concentration of crime across the city, Old Towne, Park Forest and Forman had the most reported incidents last week.

Old Towne saw the largest increase. Crime reports in Haggard also rose, after declining the week before, and incidents in Clearview are up considerably as well.

Regarding day and time factors, Monday, Thursday and Wednesday had the most reported crimes last week. The largest increase from the previous week occurred on Thursday, Saturday and Friday, while incidents on Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday went down. Comparing times of day, late morning, early afternoon and late afternoon saw the most crime last week.
