Looking for a new wine bar to check out? Look no further than this new arrival. Called Charles E Fromage, the fresh arrival is located at 5811 W. Vliet St. in Washington Heights.

According to the business' website, Charles E Fromage hopes to replicate "18th-century French salons — places where people gathered to discuss literature, art, current events and ideas."

The menu is made up of small snacks that rotate daily, but you'll find cheese spreads, salads, chocolates and more. There are local Milwaukee beers available, as well as a wine list that was sourced by popular selection. Each month, customers are invited for a wine-tasting to select next month's offerings.

Charles E Fromage has gotten an enthusiastic response thus far, with a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.

Joanna T., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 15, wrote, "It's a cozy, charming space with seats for maybe 20 people both at the bar and at a few tables along the wall. Have a seat and choose from the small but well-curated list of glasses and bottles."

Yelper Paul T. added, “What a unique and wonderful place to enjoy some unique beers, wine , sodas and handcrafted snacks. The owners have turned an old barbershop into a warm and inviting place for conversation with with friends and whomever might sit down at the bar"

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Charles E Fromage is open from 4–11 p.m. on Monday, Thursday and Friday, 2–11 p.m. on Saturday and noon–5 p.m. on Sunday. (It's closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.)
