A new Sichuan spot has opened for business in the neighborhood. Called Chef King, the newcomer is located at 101 N. 85th St. in Greenwood.

Chef King offers Sichuan-inspired dishes like Sichuan-style boiled fish, cumin lamb, green onion pancakes, braised beef noodle soup and more. According to Eater Seattle, one of the specialty dishes is the rock candy duck, which "is boiled with Chinese herbs and spices to flavor the meat, then steamed, lightly deep-fried to a crisp, and rubbed with a rock sugar sauce, served with a spicy dipping sauce for balance."

Or, if you don't know what you want to order off the menu, you can always leave it up to the chef. On the menu, there's "Whatever" — a chef's choice option — and an "I Don't Know" chef's secret dish option.

Chef King has gotten good reviews thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp.

Tim H., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on August 1, wrote, "We visited this new addition to the neighborhood yesterday for the first time, and it is outstanding. Both food and service were excellent. If you're a fan of Sichuan cuisine, you won't be disappointed by the food here."

Yelper Helen S. added, “New Sichuan restaurant with bubble tea. Love the candy duck, fish and green onion pancake. Everything we ordered is fresh and delicious."

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Chef King is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. (It's closed on Tuesday.)
