A Story That Needs to Be Told: Maryland, Parole and the Ungers
From the event description:
Please join Marc Steiner and members of the Unger class ... for an important panel discussion on parole reform. The Ungers are a cohort of people who received life sentences in trials tainted by unconstitutional jury instructions. The Unger decision resulted in the release of almost 200 people from Maryland prisons who served an average of more than 30 years; it created a natural case study from which other states can learn. The Ungers offer a unique look at how states can safely and effectively provide meaningful opportunities for release through reentry planning.
