The Green Sun curators, Kristen Neville Taylor and Ricky Yanas, invite you to a screening of Swiss artists Christina Hemauer and Roman Keller's film "A Road Not Taken." A discussion on the problems and possibilities of a "green economy" will follow the screening. About the film: In "A Road not Taken", Swiss artists Christina Hemauer and Roman Keller travel back in time and, following the route the solar panels took, interview those involved in the decisions regarding these panels as well as those involved in the oil crisis of the time. They also look closely at the way this initial installation presaged our own era.

Life at Sea: A Rare Book Voyage

Join us for an afternoon voyage into the Free Library of Philadelphia’s rare book collections. We’ll page through books about pirates printed in the 1600s and 1700s, look at children’s books about whales and sea monsters and even study a Bible printed in Germantown in 1743 that was captured by pirates on the Atlantic Ocean before finding its way back to Philadelphia. In addition to studying all of these treasures, participants will receive a free Voyage Pass to visit the new exhibition American Voyager: Herman Melville at 200 at The Rosenbach, a museum and library just a short distance from Parkway Central. Pack your sea chest and prepare to embark on an epic journey into history!

D.O.P.E is Feeding the Homeless and we'd appreciate your support! Come out and serve with us! If you're interested in donating some suggestions are: Iced tea, lemonade, hot dogs, hamburgers, pasta, salad, pizza, turkey, sandwiches (no pork, no peanut butter), water, Crystal Light packages or snacks. Season appropriate/gently used clothing are also excepted. If you have donations, please message us first.

Fall Harvest Festival
