Japanese artist Hiroshi Sugimoto's new sculpture, "Point of Infinity," has been installed on a hilltop on Yerba Buena Island, acting as a massive sundial so tall that the Federal Aviation Administration had to approve it. The 69-foot stainless steel work was commissioned under the Treasure Island Art Program run by the San Francisco Arts Commission. Despite ongoing legal disputes surrounding housing development projects in the area, new infrastructure and attractions continue to be added to promote these islands as an eventual destination.
