Investigation Underway Surrounding In-Custody Death at Marin County Jail

On August 10th, a deputy conducting a routine check in the Marin County Jail found an incarcerated person hanging in their shared cell, prompting an immediate investigation by the San Rafael Police Department via a Marin County Sheriff's Office press release.

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office Coroners Division has been tasked with handling coroner duties and a post-mortem examination is set to take place later this week.
