In the heart of California's wine country, a relentless force is underway as firefighters, helicopters, and air tankers descend upon a previously serene landscape. The reason for such urgency is the Alta Fire, a vegetation fire that began near the 1600 block of Wooden Valley Road in Napa County yesterday, burning approximately 10-15 acres with a moderate spread rate, according to a CAL FIRE LNU tweet.

The battle against the Alta Fire has been formidable, with firefighters dispatching an array of resources, including eight fire engines, four air tankers, two helicopters, two dozers, five water tenders, and four hand crews, in an attempt to contain the blaze. Their efforts have not been in vain; firefighters managed to halt the fire's forward progress, and containment has reached 30 percent, as noted in a KRON4 article.
With the fire spreading across a steep incline in grass-oak woodland, the air tankers have been working to make headway with retardant drops, while ground crews focus on establishing hose lays around the perimeters of the fire. Wooden Valley Road has been closed between Highway 121 and Wooden Valley Cross due to the blaze, causing temporary disruptions in the region, as KRON4 reported.
