Earlier today, the Chase Bank branch in Northridge fell victim to a bomb threat, resulting in an evacuation.

According to ABC7 News, the bomb threat was first reported sometime before 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, prompting the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) to take immediate action. The Chase Bank branch, located at the Plaza Di Northridge shopping center near the intersection of Plummer Street and Shirley Avenue, was swiftly evacuated by the police, displaying the urgency of the situation.

Details regarding the origin of the threat remain sparse, a spokesperson for the LAPD did not disclose how they became aware of it. Officers cordoned off the area surrounding the bank and shut down at least two adjacent streets to ensure public safety. Members of the LAPD's bomb squad were also deployed to assess the threat.

LAPD Officer Tony Im spoke with Patch, stating, "It's still going ... It's a bomb threat. There is not a standoff."

Witnesses reported an individual being handcuffed and placed into a patrol vehicle in a parking lot across the street from the bank; however, the connection between this person and the bomb threat incident remains uncertain.
