37-year-old Temo Gaxiola of Simi Valley has been arrested following a shooting. Two individuals were expelled from Mambo Grill Restaurant and Bar over unruly behavior. It was then when Gaxiola reportedly returned, opened fire from a passing vehicle, and injured four people before making his escape.
Local resident Irma Pigiampaolo, disturbed by the shocking incident, told NBC Los Angeles, "I’ve heard of shootings but not around here, I mean I thought this was a safe neighborhood. The police are right around here, so I am shocked."
According to ABC7, witnesses described Gaxiola and his female companion being escorted from the bar earlier that evening. However, that the woman accompanying Gaxiola is now deemed a "person of interest," though not believed to be a suspect.
While the suspect remains in custody, the investigation continues to gain more insight into the motive and details. The Downey Police Department, per their news release, has urged those with information about the incident to come forward and contact Det. Chaidez.
