Last Thursday evening, Officer Khalfan's vigilance foiled potential criminal activity, as he discovered a concealed handgun during a traffic stop on North Texas Street near a hotel.
The officer, acting on probable cause, ended up searching the vehicle and found the weapon in the area where the 45-year-old front passenger was sitting, according to their Facebook post.
A records check revealed the harrowing truth - the passenger was a convicted felon, prohibited from possessing firearms.
The felon was subsequently taken into custody on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, and carrying a loaded firearm.
