According to CBS News, officers from the Los Angeles Police Department's Hollywood Division responded to a break-in at a Toyota dealership in Hollywood Boulevard, where the suspect shattered the front door and vandalized the inside before stealing keys from a lockbox, ultimately driving away in a white sedan.
The suspect led police on a pursuit that originated from Hollywood to Beverly Hills, where he broke into a Lamborghini dealership at Wilshire Boulevard using rocks and debris to shatter a window, as reported by FOX LA. An hour-long standoff with LAPD ensued as the suspect paced back and forth in front of the luxury car dealership, refusing to comply with officers' commands and instead scrolling on his phone.
Eventually, Beverly Hills police successfully moved in, using a taser on the suspect before taking him into custody. The arrest occurred around 3 a.m., with no injuries reported to any officers or civilians. The 22-year-old suspect, whose name hasn't been released by authorities, remains in police custody. Throughout this chaotic and potentially dangerous pursuit, officers attempted to pull the suspect over multiple times, with LAPD even discontinuing the pursuit for a brief period due to rising concerns for public safety.
