In Reseda, California, a cycle of flames persists as multiple fires were ignited earlier this month. A woman, Yoryett Salazar, has been arrested and charged in connection with at least four of them after admitting her involvement, as reported by KTLA.

During a 72-hour period, the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded to 14 suspicious fires involving rubbish, debris, or grass in the Reseda area. According to the LAFD, Salazar's involvement in at least four of these fires was confirmed through surveillance video footage from local businesses. Salazar has faced previous charges for a diverse range of felonies and misdemeanors, as reported by CBS News.

It's worth noting, however, that Salazar's confession accounts for only a portion of the total fires. The remaining blazes continue to elude any definite attribution, raising concerns that Reseda could still house at least one other arsonist. LAFD has been vigilant in its pursuit of leads, sharing images of another woman on a bicycle who is considered a person of interest, seen in the area of several of the fires.

With the magnitude of the fires varying and damage generally minimal, it's perhaps fortunate that no one was injured during the incidents. One family shared their story with FOX 11, explaining that they had to relocate due to smoke issues after their backyard was maliciously set ablaze. Disturbingly, one member of this household was a pregnant woman.

In an effort to bring some resolution to the community, the LAFD is actively seeking further information that could help solve these cases. They encourage the public to provide photos, videos, or any relevant details by contacting the LAFD Arson Tip Line at 213-893-9850 or emailing [email protected].
