The LAPD PIO Twitter account reported that officers responded to a dispatch about an armed suspect in a pick-up truck. The police on duty encountered a male who did not heed their verbal commands, culminating in an officer-involved shooting (OIS).
On October 7, 2023, around 12:55 a.m., officers received a radio call of an armed suspect in a pick-up truck. Officers responded to the scene and made contact with the suspect. The officers gave the suspect verbal commands but he failed to comply and an OIS occurred.

A direct result of the OIS, the suspect to intrigue, was hit by gunfire and pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel. The deceased, identified as a Hispanic man in his 30s, was accompanied by another individual who was later questioned and released by the police. A firearm found at the scene has been booked as evidence.
