
Earlier today, in Simi Valley, California, was broken by an abrupt commercial burglary followed by a high-speed police chase spanning Simi Valley to the City of Los Angeles. As reported in a Simi Valley Police Department post, the pursuit ended in a search for the suspects on foot, resulting in two of them, Anthony Perry and Jose Padron Jr., being apprehended and charged.
A resident's call to the Simi Valley Police Department around 3:05 am to report an ongoing burglary at 1869 Royal Ave initiated events. A black sedan with three individuals was said to have crashed into the business establishment, breaking the glass storefront to gain entry. Though the police arrived quickly, the suspects had already made their getaway in the same sedan, slipping gracefully onto the 118 Freeway.
Soon, the suspect's vehicle was sighted by an SVPD unit on the freeway. But, attempts to pull the suspects over were unsuccessful. The pursuit continued from the freeway through the City of Los Angeles to Getty Center Dr, where the suspects abandoned their vehicle. They attempted to escape on foot around the 1000 block of Moraga Dr, necessitating simultaneous cooperation between Simi Valley and Los Angeles police departments.
With assistance from an LAPD airship, and K9 units, a perimeter was established and a search for the suspects began. Anthony Perry, 21, and Jose Padron Jr., 23, both from the City of Los Angeles were finally apprehended after an intense search. The charges they now face attend to their role in the crime spree, the police has reported.
As per the SVPD post, Perry and Padron have been charged with 459 PC –Burglary, 2800.2 CVC- Reckless Evading, 182 PC- Conspiracy, and 148 PC- Resisting Arrest. They were booked at the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Pre-Trial Detention Facility. The third suspect remains at large, and further information about him isn't available currently.
