The City of Santa Clarita proudly features “Color Therapy”, an art exhibition spotlighting the work of Sarah Louise Wilson at The MAIN theater in Old Town Newhall. This exhibition offers attendees a deep insight into Wilson's heartfelt connection with her artwork, demonstrated across three decades of her artistic exploration, according to the City of Santa Clarita Press Release.
The exhibition includes paintings and sketches that articulate Wilson's emotional experiences. Her work provides a conduit for self-expression, offering her a personal space to elucidate the range of emotions defining human existence.
Equating her art to a process of self-care, Wilson's work transcends the boundaries of traditional art exhibitions by focusing on her personal path towards healing. Her artwork prompts viewers to navigate the intricacies of human emotions, revealing a space of acceptance and understanding.
In her ongoing series, Wilson explores mental health issues, particularly solitude and daily struggles. Her solitary figures tell a tale of recovery and understanding, amidst an effusion of uplifting colors. Using a variety of mediums, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, colored-pencil, pyrography, and resin, Wilson's art defines her unique interpretation of beauty, designed to inspire happiness and satisfaction.
A special reception for the exhibition is scheduled for October 19 from 7-10 p.m., with the showcase running until October 30, as per the press release. This event, coinciding with Old Town Newhall's SENSES Block Party, aims to provide a diverse cultural experience with art, entertainment, and community involvement.
