Two men were left dead in an armed robbery in San Bernardino on Saturday, October 28. The incident occurred at the National Orange Show and is under police investigation.

The City of San Bernardino reports that around 11:00 p.m., San Bernardino Police Officers responded to a security alert. An armed robbery had reportedly taken place at a backstage parking lot of the National Orange Show. The suspect, a man wearing an orange vest and a beanie with a handgun, had fled the scene.

The officers, positioned at a music festival on the same premises, quickly reached the location. They came across a man corresponding with the suspect's description and carrying a handgun. Identified as David Rojas Sr., the 53-year-old reportedly began shooting at the officers, who retaliated.

Rojas was taken into custody and later pronounced dead at a local hospital due to injuries sustained from the gunfire. Rojas had a known history of violent crimes, as per KTLA.

While investigating the area for additional evidence, authorities found another man with a gunshot wound close by. An empty bullet case near him suggested point-blank shooting. This man was also announced dead at the scene. The San Bernardino Sun states that it remains undetermined how this man was linked to the initial intended crime of robbery.

According to standard procedure, the San Bernardino District Attorney's Office is simultaneously conducting an investigation. The San Bernardino Police Department is also continuing its investigation into the events leading to Rojas' involvement and the subsequent fatalities.
