
On Monday, October 16, a shooting claimed two lives in Wilmington, highlighting a persistent problem with gun violence. Investigations are being led by detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department's South Bureau Homicide, who are appealing for public assistance in identifying the offender. LAPD's official newsroom reported the suspect, a masked male Hispanic, fled on foot following the shooting.
Harbor Area patrol officers were alerted to the crime scene at approximately 5:15 p.m. following an “Ambulance Shooting” radio call. On reaching the 1000 Block of East M Street, officers found two men, aged 47 and 44, suffering from gunshot injuries. Despite emergency efforts, the elder victim died instantly, while the younger individual succumbed to his injuries later at the hospital.
