
A man was fatally hit while biking with his dog in Laguna Beach on Saturday evening, October 7. The accident occurred around 7 p.m. at the Oak and Glenneyre Street intersection, according to the official Laguna Beach news release.
The critically injured man, whose identity is not yet released, later passed away at a local trauma center, waiting next of kin notification as per KTLA report. His dog, who was in the bike's basket during the collision, suffered minor injuries and is recovering at a local animal hospital.
"Our deepest prayers and condolences to the deceased male's family," stated Laguna Beach Police Captain Mike Peters, as mentioned by City of Laguna Beach News.
The vehicle's driver cooperated with authorities and remained at the accident scene. Preliminary police reports do not suggest drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision according to KTLA.
