On Sunday, October 22, a fatal stabbing incident occurred in the city of El Monte, Los Angeles County. The local police department, aided by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) Homicide Bureau, started a probe into this crime. The LASD states the incident took place around 4:58 p.m. on the 11000 block of Ranchito Street.
The victim of this crime, a Hispanic woman between the ages of 40 and 45, was found dead from multiple stab wounds. As reported by KTLA, a juvenile witnessed the horrible event and called 911 with the help of an adult. The authorities declared the victim dead on the scene. Within a short span of time after the incident, the police arrested a 20 to 25 year old Hispanic female suspected of the murder, and a suspected murder weapon was recovered from the scene. Currently, no other suspects are being pursued.
The motive behind this violent act is still unclear as the investigation continues. The nature of any relationship between the victim and suspect is also unknown. The area's residents, while understandably shaken, are remaining alert. In a conversation with KTLA, local resident, Onsi Mousa, expressed, "I'm not scared but I have to be careful. Because I'm working in the yard, so I have to close the garage just in case."
