The FBI in Los Angeles continues the search for Mohamed Alaaeldien Mahmoud Hussein Aly, accused of international parental kidnapping. Aly took his three children, with the shared custody, from their school in La Canada Flintridge, California in September 2021, and has been missing since, according to a tweet from the FBI's Los Angeles office.
As per the details on the FBI Most Wanted page, Aly and his children's last known location was Cairo, Egypt. They had embarked on a the journey from Los Angeles International Airport, stopping over at Istanbul in Turkey, before proceeding to Egypt on September 18, 2021. Aly was supposed to return the children back to their mother the following day.
Moving forward with, both the local and international authorities have failed to locate Aly. The trail currently appears to be cold, leaving the mother in a state of distress.
Before his alleged crime, Aly had connections in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and California. A warrant for his arrest was issued by the United States District Court, Central District of California, on February 7, 2022. It casts Aly as wanted for international parental kidnapping. Pertinent information about Aly's location should be passed on to the local FBI office or the nearest American Embassy or Consulate.
His actions have left a profound mark on his estranged wife, and the community he abandoned. Members of that community are trying to come to terms with the loss.
