Earlier today, an update was released regarding the investigation into the homicide of 48-year-old North Palm Springs resident, Jeremy M. Abshear, with another suspect now in custody. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department reported that Conner Turley, an 18-year-old resident of Palm Desert, was arrested under murder charges on October 27, following the execution of a search warrant in Palm Desert.

This investigation commenced on May 16, when North Palm Springs deputies responded to reported gunfire on the 64000 block of 16th Avenue. Upon arrival, Abshear was found with gunshot wounds. Despite efforts by first responders, Abshear died at the scene. 

Initially, the Central Homicide Unit arrested two North Palm Springs residents, Cody Barneck, 33, and Mark Barneck, 66. In subsequent months, a third suspect, 19-year-old Aisa K. Bailey, also from Palm Desert, was arrested. The recent apprehension of Conner Turley is the latest development in this ongoing case.
