The Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC) and the City of Baldwin Park are collaborating to host Vet @ The Park on October 22. This event, free for the public, will provide comprehensive veterinary services including check-ups, vaccinations, microchipping, flea treatment, and deworming, as stated by the Los Angeles County Animal Care & Control press release.

"DACC aims to assists pet owners to get necessary medical care in their own community,” said DACC's Director Marcia Mayeda. “It allows us to serve all pets and owners who might not otherwise have access to professional pet medical care."

Rising pet population correlates to increasing demand for affordable and accessible pet care. Programs like Vet @ The Park bridge this divide, ensuring wellness and safety of animals.

The Vet @ The Park will also organize engaging activities for pets and their owners such as, demonstrations by Disc Dogs in Southern California, a team known for their frisbee-catching antics.

This event aligns with DACC’s mission to bestow safety and welfare to both people and animals, look after lost or unwanted pets, and continuously work towards the goal of providing homes to all adoptable animals.

Organizations and community partners including the Los Angeles County Animal Care Foundation and Wallis Annenberg PetSpace, are teaming up to execute Vet @ The Park.

"I am excited about providing our community an opportunity to avail free services from talented vets ensuring pet health," commented Baldwin Park Mayor Emmanuel J. Estrada. "This event also enables pet owners to network and give their pets crucial treatments," he added.

Guidelines set by the City of Baldwin Park for the event specify dogs must be leashed, and cats should be kept in carriers. Moreover, wearing masks is highly recommended and services are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
