Yesterday, an elderly woman found herself targeted in a shocking act of violence in a residential area near Scholarship and Dupont in Irvine, California, according to the Irvine Police Department's Facebook post.
While walking her dog, the 81-year-old woman was assaulted by an irate driver. After a verbal exchange, the individual left his vehicle to physically attack the woman, causing her multiple injuries, including a fractured arm and dislocated shoulder. However, community members rallied around the injured woman, providing assistance and supplying pertinent information to the police, as reported on the Police Department's Facebook post.
Due to the swift actions of witnesses, police were able to arrest the suspect, 47-year-old Matthew Christopher Tye. He was booked at Orange County Jail on charges of felony elder abuse and felony battery.
