The Irvine Police Department's Special Weapons and Tactics Team executed a combined training exercise with the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) at the OCFA Fire Academy in Irvine yesterday. This collaboration served as an opportunity not only to enhance responder skills, but also to introduce the Lenco BearCat MedEvac rescue vehicle, according to the Facebook post of the Irvine Police Department.
The training session included various critical incident circumstances, ranging from breaching doors to rescuing hostages. Such practical exercises encourage responders' collaboration, trust, and directly contribute to their ability to handle emergencies efficiently. Moreover, the Irvine Police Department unveiled the Lenco BearCat MedEvac rescue vehicle during the session.
The multi-function BearCat MedEvac, designed to serve as both an armored vehicle and an ambulance, is a manifestation of the commitment of the Irvine Police Department and OCFA to both citizen and responder safety. Providing fire suppression reinforces efforts to improve life-saving capabilities.
