On Friday, October 13, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) made public the arrest of 31-year-old Thornton Courtland, suspected in a Chinatown boutique robbery on September 14, as we reported here on Hoodline LA last month. Surveillance footage depicts Courtland assaulting an employee and pilfering property, resulting in the victim's hospitalization. Reaching the arrest took a detailed investigation by the LAPD's Gang and Narcotics Division, teaming up with the U.S. Marshals Apprehension TASK Force.

Following his arrest, Thornton Courtland, an LA resident, was held on $80,000 bail under Booking No. 6693716. The LAPD Central Area Robbery Detectives are now investigating potential links to other robberies attributed to Courtland. Anyone with additional information is urged to contact Detective Huy Nguyen at (213) 996-1875. Alternatively, anonymous tips can to be reported to the LA Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.lacrimestoppers.org.

Courtland was apprehended without incident by the joint efforts of the LAPD's Gang and Narcotics Division, U.S. Marshals Apprehension TASK Force, and the LAPD's Air Support Division.
