On Sunday, October 22, Nickolas Mallory, a 25-year-old man involved in organized retail crime, was arrested in a combined operation led by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and Riverside County Sheriffs. Mallory committed numerous robberies and thefts from Nordstrom stores in Los Angeles and in Palm Desert, resulting in retail losses exceeding $100,000, according to the LAPD Newsroom.
Following his arrest, Mallory was booked for Robbery and held on $1,350,000 bail and charged with 11 felony counts ranging from burglary to firearm and ammunition possession. The LAPD Newsroom reported that detectives recovered stolen merchandise and discovered evidence that linked Mallory to various other crimes, including possession of a modified automatic machine gun pistol, high-capacity ammunition magazines, and various types of ammunition calibers, plus over $2,000.
