In light of the socioeconomic disparities, inclusive growth becomes imperative. LA Mayor Karen Bass stressed the importance of providing adequate resources and information to the entrepreneurial community as the city gears up for upcoming global events like the 2026 World Cup and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, as per the Mayor's Office press release.
Public-private partnerships underpin the commitment to fostering social and financial advancement within the city. Eric Smith, the Vice Chair, aims to push the financial growth of LA by pledging $16 billion to fortify local communities in the Californian region. BMO’s strategic investments are in the arena of sustainable businesses, affordable housing, philanthropic giving and economic development.
Addressing economic disparities requires a comprehensive approach that involves understanding local markets and curating customized strategies. Rachel Freeman, the Deputy Mayor for Business and Economic Development, inaugurated the event, while Erin Bromaghim of the International Affairs office shared insights on procurement opportunities related to the forthcoming international events, as mentioned in the same press release by the Mayor's office.
