Yesterday, the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) informed the public of an attempted child abduction incident in the Washington Neighborhood via a post on their official Facebook page.
The young victim was unharmed and was able to escape. The suspect, an unidentified adult male driving a black sedan, is still at large, as posted by the LBPD on their Facebook page.
LBPD advises residents, to be alert and mindful of their surroundings and safety during the ongoing investigation.
If feasible, residents are encouraged to walk in groups and in high-traffic areas. Detectives are currently working on the case and local Neighborhood Safety Bike Teams has been dispatched to engage with the local community.
