
Earlier today, The Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) thwarted a burglary in progress on the 300 block of Ellis Street. The suspected burglars were armed, and hostages were reported in the residence, according to a news release.
During the crisis, the LPBD prioritized community safety and appealed for local cooperation. They advised residents to avoid the area until the situation was resolved, as posted by LPBD via Facebook.
To defuse the dangerous scenario, was the SWAT team was quickly mobilized. They arrested four adult male suspects, retrieved firearms from the scene, and ensured the safety of two hostages in the residence.
