Areas such as Santa Clarita, the high country, the Los Angeles basin, the Santa Monica Mountains, and the coast are particularly susceptible due to the season's first significant Santa Ana wind event, as per LACoFD.
In these circumstances, it is of utmost importance that local communities follow the Fire Department's guidelines, comprising the Ready! Set! Go! Wildfire Action Plan. Apart from this, residents are urged to report signs of smoke, fire and prepare for potential Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS). A broader understanding of the strained interplay between human activity and the environment is also in need of fostering.
Although essential, the warnings and action plans of the Los Angeles County Fire Department represent only a fraction of the larger environmental awareness narrative.
